India retain No.1 spot in ICC ODI Rankings as New Zealand close the gap in latest annual update.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest Men’s ODI Team Rankings following the annual update, with India maintaining their position at the top of the table.

India remain the No.1 ranked ODI side with 118 points, although their lead over second-placed New Zealand has reduced from eight to five points. New Zealand have improved to 113 points after gaining two rating points in the latest update.

Reigning ODI World Cup champions Australia continue to sit in third place with 109 points, with no change in their rating. The top three positions remain unchanged after the update, reflecting consistency among the leading teams.

A key shift in the top five sees South Africa moving ahead of Pakistan to claim fourth place. South Africa now hold 102 points, while Pakistan have dropped to fifth with 98 points.

Further down the rankings, Bangladesh have widened their gap over the West Indies in ninth position, with the difference now extending to 10 points.

There were also notable movements outside the top 10. Ireland have climbed above Zimbabwe to take 11th place, while the United States have overtaken Scotland to move into 13th position. In another change, the United Arab Emirates have surpassed Canada to reach 19th place.

India’s continued dominance is reflected across formats, as they also hold the No.1 position in the ICC Men’s T20I Rankings following last week’s annual update. Australia, meanwhile, remain the top-ranked side in Test cricket and also lead both the Women’s ODI and T20I rankings.

The updated rankings highlight a stable top tier in ODI cricket, with India maintaining their supremacy while several mid-table teams continue to shuffle positions in an increasingly competitive landscape.
