The iconic sisters, who have dominated the grass courts of the All England Club for over two decades, will reunite in doubles competition as they chase another historic title. Wimbledon organizers confirmed the wild card entry ahead of the tournament, which begins on June 29.

Despite a combined age of 90, the Williams sisters remain one of the most

celebrated partnerships in tennis history. Together, they have won 14 Grand Slam doubles titles, including six Wimbledon crowns.

Their first Wimbledon doubles title came in 2000 as wild cards, while their most recent triumph at the tournament was in 2016.

Serena, 44, recently made her long-awaited return to professional tennis after nearly four years away from the sport. Venus, who turns 46 this week, has continued to compete on a limited schedule in recent seasons.

The sisters last played doubles together at the 2022 US Open,

Where they were defeated in the opening round. Before that appearance, they had not teamed up for more than four years.

Their combined Wimbledon legacy is extraordinary.

Serena owns seven singles titles at the All England Club, while Venus has captured five. Along with their six doubles championships, Serena also won the 1998 Wimbledon mixed doubles title alongside Max Mirnyi. The sisters additionally claimed Olympic gold in doubles at the 2012 London Games, while Serena won singles gold the same year.

Meanwhile, speculation continues over whether Serena could also make a singles comeback. Wimbledon has yet to announce one of its women’s singles wild-card selections, leaving the possibility open.
In other wild-card announcements, former Grand Slam champions Stan Wawrinka and Grigor Dimitrov received men’s singles entries, while Nick Kyrgios will compete in men’s doubles alongside Alexander Bublik.
