Australia’s Beth Mooney once again delivered on the biggest stage, producing a match-winning performance to guide her team to a dominant seven-wicket victory over England in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Final at Lord’s.

The Australian star played a pivotal role in her team’s historic seventh Women’s T20 World Cup triumph, earning the prestigious Aramco Player of the Tournament award.

After Australia’s disciplined bowling attack restricted England to 150/4, Mooney anchored the chase with a composed 64 off 49 deliveries, striking 10 boundaries as Australia comfortably reached 153/3 in 17.1 overs. The victory secured Australia’s record-extending seventh Women’s T20 World Cup title and marked their return to the top of T20 cricket after three years.

Australia captain Sophie Molineux reserved special praise for Mooney, describing her as the backbone of Australia’s batting lineup and one of the smartest cricketers she has ever played alongside.

It was the third time she has scored a half-century in a Women’s T20 World Cup final, having also produced match-winning fifties in the 2020 and 2023 finals.

Australia’s successful chase of 153 became the highest successful run chase in the history of a Women’s T20 World Cup final, underlining another unforgettable chapter in the nation’s dominance of world cricket.
